Technical Position

1. a biomechanical posture that is used in the actual process of keeping one's body or parts of it from harm; e.g. a guarding position,
2. a biomechanical posture that is used in the actual process of hitting an opponent's body or some part of it; e.g. a striking position,
3. a biomechanical posture that is used in the actual process of obstructing an opponent's body or some part of it; e.g. a blocking position,
4. a biomechanical posture that is used in the actual process of deflecting an opponent's body or some part of it; e.g. a parrying position,
5. a biomechanical posture that is used in the actual process of grasping opponent's body or some part of it; e.g. a grappling position,
6. a biomechanical posture that is used in the actual process of hurling an opponent's body or some part of it; e.g. a throwing position.
